| Accrediting bodies |
 |
 |
| You should always make sure that the business school in question is accredited by an recognized accrediting body. Some business schools are only accredited by their own national accrediting body, while others are accredited internationally. Accreditation acts like a seal of approval for the business school. The accreditation of a business school should ensure a specific minimum standard in academic education. |

 | | ACQUIN’s aim is to support the maintenance and enhancement of quality standards for teaching and learning in higher education and to contribute to the internationalisation of German higher education by performing accreditation for all types of higher education institutions and taking into account all types of programmes and disciplines. A principal objective is to provide guidance and information to students, employers and higher education institutions and to contribute to more transparency in the study programmes market.
The foundation’s areas of activity are:
- Interdisciplinary accreditation of national and international Bachelor and Master programmes
- Projects and events with German and foreign partners
- Involvement in official higher education events
- Co-operation and contacts with partner institutions
- Publications and presentations
The main characteristics of ACQUIN are independence, objectivity and high quality. Academic freedom and academic autonomy of institutions are respected: higher education institutions may regulate their own quality and standards, but at the same time must guarantee transparency of their processes and public accountability in discharging this self-regulation. | | | | |
