Our data specialists are highly competent in using the right queries, interpreting the hidden information in data, and gaining insights for forecasting trends and events – with a view to helping management teams, organisations and society make better decisions. To this end, the master’s programme provides future data specialists not only with deep expertise in their field but also with consummate skills for applying it for optimal benefit. By working on projects, they will further develop their knowledge by tackling real-life problems as found in a wide range of applied fields. Our master’s programme emphasises the interdisciplinary nature of data science and covers topics in fields as varied as technology, analytics, design and management. This ensures that students will have a broad, multidisciplinary experience and gain excellent prospects as businesspersons or researchers.

The programme is open to anyone with a bachelor’s or master's degree from a university or a university of applied sciences. Applicants are expected to have a pronounced interest in data technologies, an affinity for analytical questions and a strong drive to excel in their field. Applicants must take an English language test and an aptitude test.

Spring semester:

Application deadline for spring semester (starting in 20th February 2024):
September 1, 2023 for applicants requiring a visa. December 1, 2023 for Swiss and EU/EFTA applicants.

Tuition / Fees

Enrolment fee: CHF 250.-
Semester fee: CHF 800.-

Duration of study

The studies usually last four semesters, but the period can be extended for up to eight semesters. Students can start either in the autumn or the spring semester.
