INSEAD establishes new centre in Abu DhabiThe Business School for the World extends its reach to the Middle East

INSEAD recently announced that it will open a Centre for Executive Education and Research in Abu Dhabi. The final agreement to set up a presence in the United Arab Emirates was signed today between INSEAD and the Abu Dhabi Education Council. the centre in Abu Dhabi will play a central role in INSEAD’s global business education network. INSEAD already has a unique dual-campus structure with two fully integrated campuses in Europe and Asia and an alliance with the Wharton school in the US. Recently, it opened an entrepreneurship centre in Israel.
The new centre in Abu Dhabi complements INSEAD’s existing presence in the world’s major economic regions. It is located halfway between the school’s two campuses in France and Singapore, and will be the hub for INSEAD’s outreach to the entire Middle East and beyond. INSEAD aims to attract an international audience to The Emirates to learn and exchange on strategic international business issues.
“Establishing a centre in Abu Dhabi – with its international outlook and dynamic business community - was a natural next step for INSEAD and supports our vision as ‘The Business School for the World’ bringing together people, cultures and ideas from around the world,” said Frank Brown, Dean of INSEAD.
He continued: “Our presence in the Middle East will be a tremendous advantage to INSEAD. The knowledge we build there will contribute to enriching our teaching and research activities to the benefit of all our participants. Thanks to the centre, we have an opportunity to have a huge impact on a region that is so important to the rest of the world for many different reasons.”
Over the next eighteen months, INSEAD plans to employ up to 30 academic and administrative staff at the centre. The activities will include executive education and research in areas such as leadership, international logistics and supply chains, healthcare management, globalization and multinational management, business innovation, entrepreneurship, family business, information technology, and business in society.
