RSM MBA Students take part in Global Prize competition

RSM Erasmus University will once again take part in the A.T. Kearney Global Prize competition in London at the end of November, making up one of the five teams in the European Final.

This prestigious competition, in its 10th year, brings together the world’s best MBA students in a business case competition to compete for a global prize of 12,000 Euro, sponsored by leading global management consulting firm A.T. Kearney. As one of only five schools in Europe selected to take part in the competition, students from RSM will first compete against each other, with the winner representing RSM at the European Final in London.

The winning team/school from Europe will then go head to head with the US global finalist in December. The Global Prize is a chance for a select group of European schools to take part in an International event against seven of the top schools in the US, including the likes of Wharton, Kellogg, MIT and Chicago.

The A. T. Kearney Global Prize is seen as the world’s most prestigious MBA business case competition and RSM Erasmus University is delighted to once again be involved representing the best of what European business schools can offer.

As well as representing their school and competing to win a variety of cash prizes, the competition also aims to give Full-time International MBA students a chance to gain valuable business case experience and get a better understanding of one of the world’s biggest global management consultancy firms.

The competition takes the form of a simulated client engagement and this year the challenge is to develop a business strategy for a global telecom company. Rutger Mans from A. T. Kearney explained “We’re in the tenth year of our Global Prize and the participants have given us very positive feedback about the effectiveness of the simulated consulting engagement and the lessons they’ve learned that will be useful in their careers. We strive to make the case as realistic as possible. We give the teams a chance to use interviewing skills and challenge them to think on their feet. Team members can solve the case only if they ask the right questions so they can get the answers needed to develop strategies that can be implemented effectively.”

RSM wishes its participating teams all the best in the competition, along with the teams from all of the participating schools. Keep checking our website for an update on how all the teams faired in the competition in December.
