The A. B. Freeman School of Business at Tulane University, originally the College of Commerce and Business Administration, was established in 1914 and is a founding member of AACSB, the premier accrediting body for collegiate schools of business. Today, Freeman is a leading, internationally recognized business school with more than 2,000 students in programs spanning four continents. The Freeman School is consistently listed among the nation's best business schools by publications including U.S. News & World Report, Bloomberg Businessweek, Forbes, Financial Times and AmericaEconomia.
Housed in a state-of-the-art complex in the heart of Tulane's uptown campus, the Freeman School boasts an outstanding faculty noted for scholarship and teaching excellence in finance, entrepreneurship, strategic management, marketing, international business, and accounting and taxation.
In its Essential Science Indicators index, Thomson Scientific ranks the Freeman School in the top 1 percent of institutions based on citations in business and economics between January 2000 and April 2010, with 197 faculty papers collectively cited 1,864 times. Among institutions that produced at least 100 indexed papers in the field during that period, Freeman's impact score of 9.46 cites per paper places it at No. 70 of the 181 institutions in the top 1 percent.
Through innovative offerings such as the nationally acclaimed Burkenroad Reports equities research program, the Darwin Fenner Student Managed Fund, the Tulane Business Plan Competition and the Global MBA program, Freeman combines a rigorous academic grounding with practical real-world experience.
One of just three nationally ranked business school in the Gulf South, Freeman offers programs including Bachelor of Science in Management, Master of Business Administration, Executive MBA, Professional MBA, Master of Accounting, Master of Finance, Master of Management, Master of Management in Energy, Master of Global Management and Doctor of Philosophy. The Freeman School also offers Executive MBA, Professional MBA and Master of Finance programs at its satellite campus in Houston, and Executive MBA and faculty development PhD programs with partner institutions in countries including Chile, China, Colombia, Mexico, Taiwan and Venezuela.

Your first semester at Tulane's world-class MBA program begins with a series of skill-building activities designed to prepare you for the challenges of the MBA program. An orientation module provides an opportunity to meet classmates from around the world and define leadership and management in Freeman terms -- a definition recognized internationally.
Annually, the Freeman School awards over $2.2 Million in merit-based fellowships. For both domestic and international MBA applicants, the notification of award is included in the letter of admission. Merit awards are intended to encourage academic excellence and enhance the quality of the Freeman School programs by bringing the best and brightest to Tulane. Dependent upon the type of fellowship offered, specific terms may apply and are included the admissions notification letter.
The Freeman School has 62 full-time faculty members, including 14 full professors, 10 associate professors, 13 assistant professors and 25 clinical professors. Of these faculty positions, 11 are endowed chairs and 21 are endowed professorships.
