An Interview with Carole
Why Do You Pursue an MBA?
As in any other industry, the field of biological sciences has a strong need for creative and competent managers with a solid understanding of the financial nuances that will propel the business. Being a research scientist, besides having a good understanding of the scientific process, it is also important to acquire the business knowledge and management skills.
At that time, I did a lot of research on the kind of MBA I would like to have. It is extremely important that you choose one that is reputable and would really help you in your career by giving you the right exposure, networks and equipping you with the actual skills required in the business world. Some business schools may focus too much on theory rather than being industry relevant. I finally found one that really suited my needs and it has helped me in my career.

Her Learning Experience
The breadth and depth of business studies can be as complicated as the body’s biochemical pathways. I was initially shocked by the amount of work that is required, to learn so many subjects. It is however, gratifying to realize that, with dedication, I excelled.
The interactive and case-based learning approach gave me the opportunity to lead and at the same time, be able to work in a team. The programme with its highly international student body has also enriched my learning experience with their diverse cultural, intellectual and management perspectives.
The Nanyang MBA has prepared me well to be an effective leader, strategic in my approach in managing the business processes.
