Thirty-four participants of the MANNHEIM & TONGJI Executive MBA Class have reached the finish line and now join our strong alumni network. In the Sino-French Centre of Tongji University in Shanghai, the graduates celebrated their achievement with family, friends, MBS and Tongji University staff and faculty as well as corporate partners.

Bright faces everywhere during the festive graduation ceremony in Shanghai, where Mannheim Business School (MBS) and the School of Economics & Management of Tongji University (TONGJI-SEM) said goodbye to the recent graduates of their joint Executive MBA program.

In their welcome speeches, Prof. YU Yu, Head of the International Students Office of Tongji University, and Bettina Kosiel, Director Executive MBA Programs of Mannheim Business School, praised the MANNHEIM & TONGJI Executive MBA program for its positive role in the tightening of the Sino-German economic and trade relationship.

Professor CHEN Shouming, Deputy Dean of the School of Economics & Management at Tongji University, expressed his congratulations to the newly-minted alumni. He emphasized the close-knit ties between the participants and the professors of the program with the motto „We are family“. He also informed the audience with great pleasure that the MANNHEIM & TONGJI Executive MBA program has been placed 14th on the current QS Global Joint EMBA Ranking. It is the first time that the program has been ranked in this annual EMBA assessment since its inauguration in 2011.

After the graduation ceremony,  three specially invited guests gave speeches and took an active part in discussions with the new graduates and current participants in the “Innovative Leadership Forum/Panel”: Dr. Manfred Bräunl, Porsche Vice President Marketing for Greater China, He Bin, General Manager at Bosch (Shanghai) Smart Life Technology and alumnus, and Christiane Prange, Professor at the School of Economics & Management of Tongji University.

The MANNHEIM & TONGJI Executive MBA is an innovative and unique learning experience offered jointly by Mannheim Business School and the School of Economics and Management of Tongji University in Shanghai since 2011. The part-time degree program helps experienced professionals and executives sharpen their skills for a top-management career at the interface of the two economic powerhouses and has become a Sino-German showcase project in management education.
