The MSc in Finance is an internationally recognized Master's degree programme and is currently one of the few programmes in the German speaking area with focus on Asset Management, Wealth Management and International Corporate Finance. This programme is unique thanks to its international approach, practice-oriented curriculum and its personal learning environment for students. The programme is entirely taught in English, lasts 4 semesters and grants 120 ECTS. Successful students are awarded with the
“Master of Science in Finance (MSc)”
Students are equipped with skills and knowledge in the latest financial management research topics and are encouraged to improve their analytical thinking and teamwork capacities. Practiceoriented projects develop leadership potential and decision-making skills. A limited number of around 35-40 students are admitted every year, who come from all over the world.
This Master’s degree programme also offers an excellent preparation for a subsequent doctoral degree programme Students are required to be open-minded and are expected to take on the challenge to study at a very high academic level.
Graduates are well prepared for the current demands in the financial market place hence are sought after candidates for leadership and expert positions in the financial services industries such as in:
- Asset Management
- Risk Management
- International Finance
- Investment Funds
- Insurance Companies;
Many graduates also work in financial management departments of internationally operating enterprises. At the same time this degree also serves as an excellent preparation for a subsequent doctoral degree programme.
Students are required to be open-minded and are expected to take on the challenge of studying at a very high academic level.
Requirements / Application
One of the requirements is the completion of a relevant and accredited Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Economics or in a related area with at least 180 ECTS credits.
We expect students to have a solid knowledge in the subjects of Mathematics/Quantitative Methods, Statistics, Corporate Finance/Investments, Accounting, Management and Research Methods and Scientific Work.
The overall average grade, as indicated on the Bachelor’s degree, certificate or in the diploma supplement, should be above average.
Applicants need to have an English language proficiency level of B2 according to CEFR. Evidence has to be provided in form of an official language certificate or other according to our admission guidelines
. Native speakers (from the US or UK) are exempt from proof of English language.
Programme start: September
31st March – for non EU/EEA and Swiss citizens, who require a visa. Early application is recommended!
30th June – only for EU/EEA and Swiss citizens.

The University of Liechtenstein strives to attract talented individuals from around the world. The number of available university places is limited to around 35-40 students per year.
