The Major in Tourism programme prepares graduates with extended up-to date knowledge, expertise, and practical skills necessary to work in the general service sector and specifically in the tourism industry. Our education system combines scientific knowledge and skills with the latest industry cases and examples, which enables our graduates to work in a variety of professional management positions in the private or public sector.

The Major in Tourism is certified by the United Nations World Tourism Organization UNWTO for its high-quality standard.

Requirements / Application

Admission to the Master of Science in Business Administration is subject to the following conditions:

  • Bachelor’s Degree equivalent to 180 ECTS in Business Administration or Management, Economics or Tourism
  • C1 English
  • An application with the required documents (ex. CV, photo, …etc More information found on the application’s website)

Enrolment fee: CHF 250.-
Semester fees: CHF 800.-

Duration of study

The part-time model consists of 4 semesters (extendable to a maximum of 8 semesters). The part-time model also enables some part-time employment during studies. The full-time study model consists of 3 semesters (two-full time semesters and one part-time semester).

Career Perspective

The Major in Tourism graduates have attractive career prospects as team leaders or project managers in a local or international tourism organisation. The programme also enables students to transfer their expertise to other industries in both public and private sectors, dealing with transport, sport and leisure services, event, and convention centres, planning and consulting firms in a wide range of areas.
